While it is possible to use your existing logo or graphics files there is typically some preparation required to ensure the file can be used successfully by our production team.
The best files for usage by our production team are vector-based files. Vector-based files are scalable, which means that you can enlarge the artwork without losing any resolution. Vector-based artwork can be provided in the following formats: .eps, .ai, or .pdf.
Just remember, .pdf files are not always vector-based, so we may ask you for another artwork file type if it is not vector.
For artwork that will be digitally printed and the artwork is a combination of photos, graphics and text, the ideal format is a CMYK .pdf file at the desired output size (if possible) at a minimum of 72 dpi / maximum of 144 dpi. We can also use the following file types: .jpeg, .pdf, .psd, .ai, or .eps.
When saving or exporting the artwork for our production team, make sure you do not save it over your original art file – just in case you ever need to access your artwork in its original form this will keep you from destroying your original art file.
Remember to always convert your text to outlines before saving or exporting your file for production. In some cases, we do not have access to the fonts in client artwork, and this allows us to use any and all fonts the client has incorporated in their artwork.
Keep in mind that if you intend to enlarge a photo, the resolution must be of sufficient size so that the image will not appear blurry once enlarged. Files downloaded or copied from websites are generally not acceptable because of their limited resolution.
