Here at Image360, we’re so excited to have recently published an article in the GBCA (General Building Contractors Assoc. of Philadelphia) Journal on a subject near and dear to our hearts, Experiential Graphic Design, also referred to as XGD.
As a manufacturer and fabricator of graphics, signage, and display solutions in the Delaware Valley (since 1999) we’re always excited to partner with our clients, architects, and builders to collaborate and create unique solutions for their spaces.
There are 5 categories of XGD that help accomplish these solutions, our experience in them can help you to discover unique and innovative ways to bring creative design, leading edge materials, and graphic technology together for your project.
With unlimited possibilities, we work to convey each project’s core message through the use of ideation. Ideation combines a price point and a message to come up with a design that meets and exceeds expectations.
XGD is all around us; as consumers, organization members and citizens, we experience them every day. These experiences are but not limited to, directional signage that tell us where to go in airports, visual communications and graphics in retail and business environments, and art installations that cause us to feel a common-connection in public spaces.
This approach to design is also a story telling tool that helps create meaningful interactions with customers or employees. Think of your experiences in doctors’ offices, shopping malls, or business complexes and think of how they compare to each other; each environment evokes different feelings and perceptions. Experiential Graphic Design is the difference between children developing a fear or being excited about the idea of going to the dentist. Is the office fun and inviting or is it sterile in appearance? The experience is key.
